Do you mean, by July 2025, they still need to apply for a visa, but if granted it’ll automatically be a Multiples visitor visa? And only if you are coming from Australia, are able to enter visa free?

why would go to Australia then go to NZ visa free.. I want to leave a Pacific country n go NZ visa free. I have multiple visa (2023) for 3 years of multiple travel to NZ so what the difference?

NZ has been granting multiple visa of the same time periods for ages now, NOTHING NEW, so what exactly do you mean by “getting a whole lot easier”?? I bet NZ immigration visa assessment will get more racist by the so called starting dates of the so called new scheme. Bullshit
