born and raised in Korea. I eat 백설기(the kind of 떡 you are eating) like you did. especially when they give it out like that.

For the tteok, if you put it in your mouth and swallow it, it’s the right way. Cut it, bite it, pick at it, it’s all correct. I am korean that’s my qualification.

That’s enough ddeok for a family of 6! Def cut it into pieces (cubes or slices) and enjoy. Rewarm in a microwave for 30 seconds wrapped in a wet paper towel.
