From grade 1 they test them on English and maths here in Ontario, also field trip all kids go even when they don’t pay from my experience. In my kids school, they give them fruits, snacks for free.

that was strange, cos in Ontario safe arrival will blow ur phone with calls, you have to state reason for absent before the system won't call you again. truly u can request for them to travel.

Pizza Day and the others are all optional, it's a personal decision to buy for your child or not. It's similar to the donations and fundraising.

Why are some of you invalidating her experience? Are you aware that each province and region has different rules. E.g: some things applicable to Peel Region isn’t applicable to Halton Region.

maybe you took off from the school if you didn't call the school or take days off days from the school they will call you or CPS will show up at your doorstep

My son is in grade three and all those additions are optional. The field trips, pizza day, fundraising drive etc, are all optional. The max I've paid for my son is $12 per activity which is not bad.

If your kids don’t go to school a day, they Must call madam. U mean your child spend days at home and no body called? Meaning your child is not registered yet in school

My son had to do year four again as well, he’s a May baby. I also miss the uniform they wear in England, it makes them look neat and sharp. We didn’t have to do any test with any of my children though
