@creative.commons101: Nikola Tesla (Serbian: Никола Тесла, July 10, 1856 – January 7, 1943) was a Serbian-American designer, physicist, mechanic, and electrician. He is famous for his contribution in designing alternating current (AC) electrical systems. Born on July 10, 1856 in Smiljan, and raised in the Austrian Empire (now Croatia), Tesla completed his education in engineering and physics in the 1870s at the Graz University of Technology Education. He had worked in the field of telephone in the early 1880s and at Continental Edison in the electrical power industry. He moved to the United States in 1884 and became a citizen there. He had worked at Edison Machine Works in New York City, then decided to leave. With the help of his colleagues to finance and market his ideas, Tesla established a laboratory in New York to develop various wood and mechanical tools. The induction motor and alternating current are made by him, and the alternating polyphase system patent was licensed by the Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1888.#fyp
