you could technically call these carburated 2 stroke diesel

The correct term for this engine is a small-displacement, air-cooled, 2-stroke glow ignition internal combustion engine. Constant heat ignition ignites the fuel.

Some of the biggest internal combustion engines ever built are 2 stroke diesels

This is actually a catylitic engine. The platinum in the plug reacts with the methanol in the fuel

it can't be an Diesel because it's not compression ignition the fuel just has verry high octane so a glow plug is enough for ignition why don't people get that 🙈

Both 4 stroke and 2 stroke use glow plugs to keep the combustion going same as spark plugs but without ignition timing.

so it's a 2 stroke compression ignition engine

Is it compression ignition? Like a diesel

p33noy :
There are "diesel" type model engines that solely use compression to ignite the fuel, which is a mixture of Diethyl Ether, kerosene and castor oil. The ether is what makes the fuel combust under compression.

It’s not a very debatable things it’s definitely two stroke and it’s just simpler to have a glow plug

You’re not wrong but in my 20 years in the hobby I’ve never come across anyone in the wild or a hobby shop that calls it a two stroke

My brain hurts reading all these comments. You have a 2 stroke glow engine and a four stroke glow engine. Both run on on 5-15% nitro fuel with oil added. Helicopters engines usually use 25-30% nitro.
