@ourwintonhome: POV: your husband tears down your old fireplace to build your dream fireplace!! 💕💕 I’m so in love with the new fireplace! I feel like it really upgraded the room! For a while now I’ve felt like our living room needed something, I just didn’t know what it needed. The other fireplace was pretty but I wanted something with more of an earthy organic feel, something that felt more custom. So we decided to do an all stone fireplace! I knew I didn’t want all white stone and I also didn’t want it too dark either.. so we went with a neutral cream colored stone and it feels perfect in here! Kolter did all of the renovation himself. I was the support person cleaning up all the messes….😂😂 With the fireplace makeover we also changed the firebox size. Our old firebox was kind of small, it was an 18 inch firebox and the logs were smaller too.. The new one is 34 inch. So nearly double the size of the older one and I feel like that really helped the overall look! We also didn’t have a hearth on the old one and I really wanted a raised hearth for some height off the floor. And lastly, the finishing touch was the mantle! We found the mantle at a local store that sells rough cut lumber! What do Yall think? I also made a transition video of the before and after.
