My take is that the black hand affects EVERYONE. We see Diligence regenerate at the end. The virtues seem to want to be "pure" which is why they built metal bodies to house their minds.

I wonder if Temperance is dead. We never see them regenerante but Diligence did. Maybe they never d!e as long as the organ that has the Black Hand is not completely destroyed? Not sure.

since virtues are ex rotlings, theyre still under the black hand. BUT its alluded that the virtues want to maintain eternal life while also worshiping the human (said in interview). so im guessing some virtues want to destroy the human and others want the prophecy fulfilled. temperance likely gave mel away so shed be safer and the prophecy could be fulfilled
