I think I’ve just found the most wholesome jumble sale EVER!🥹♻️❤️ This is Free4All, an incredible community event in St Helens started by Tiggs McTidge. After struggling with her own mental health, Tiggs started giving things away for free to people in her local community who needed them. Each month it grew and grew, and now, with the help of an amazing team of volunteers, Free4All takes over The Dam pub in St Helens every month🫶🏽🥹. Everything at the event is completely FREE and has been donated, helping to stop perfectly good items from ending up in landfill🥳♻️. And just to explain how it works — Free4All is open to EVERYONE. ❤️ If you’re struggling or need something, you can take what you need completely free of charge. If you’re simply someone who loves a rummage (🙋🏼‍♀️), you’re also very welcome to come along and leave a donation if you’re able to. There are charity pots around the event and every donation, big or small, is hugely appreciated. They do discourage people from taking items specifically to resell, which I completely understand — the whole idea is for things to be reused and enjoyed by the people taking them, while helping the community. 🫶🏼 And NOTHING goes to waste. Once Free4All finishes, anything left is collected by charities or given to anybody who can make use of it, so it doesn’t just get thrown away🥰🌎👏🏽. Honestly, the positivity in this place was infectious. Tiggs and all of the volunteers work SO hard, and one volunteer told me that helping here has quite literally saved her life by giving her something positive to focus on🥺❤️✨. It saves things from landfill, encourages people to reuse instead of buying new, helps people who genuinely need things, raises money for charity AND brings the local community together. What an absolutely amazing thing to create. This week’s Free4All was also raising money for KittenKarers and Bold Bhaile Cic🐱❤️. I visited on the 5th and final day, but they run Free4All every month, so make sure you follow “Positive Posts About People and Places in St Helens” to find out when the next one is happening! Massive well done to Tiggs and every single volunteer involved. I left with a couple of treasures, made a donation and, more importantly, left feeling ridiculously inspired by what they’ve created. 🥹♻️❤️ More communities need things like this!! #freestuff #jumblesale #carboot #carbootsale #bargainshopper
