Yazeed :
If jesus was god why did he then In John 10:36, when the Jews accuse Jesus of blasphemy for supposedly claiming to be God, he gives a clear and powerful response that completely refutes their misunderstanding:
“Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? Do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?
Is it not written in your Law: ‘I said, you are gods’?”
(John 10:34–36)
This is extremely important. Jesus quotes Psalm 82:6, where God calls other human beings “gods” in a metaphorical sense — referring to judges or leaders appointed by God. The full verse is:
Psalm 82:6 — “I said, ‘You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High.’”
Jesus is saying: If your own Scripture calls others ‘gods’ metaphorically, how can you accuse me of blasphemy for calling myself the Son of God — especially when:
• I was sanctified by the Father (set apart),
• And sent by Him into the world?
If Jesus were actually claiming to be God Almighty, this was the moment to confirm it. But instead, he denies their accusation and lowers his claim — showing that being called “Son of God” is not the same as being equal to God.
