I wouldn’t do the job if they didn’t want to do it right. You always do the lifters on a GM. That is a setup for “ever since you did my head gaskets” situation

I've got 280k on my 2012 5.3 never opened the engine on it but do have afm disabled never had any issues other then a heater core and ac not working🤷
