I live in Alaska. One barge doesn't come in and the shelves across the state are empty. Hunt, fish, garden, can and freeze. Add in snowstorms. This is so smart!! Love your ideas.

Do people not realize it’s cheaper to do things in bulk? And you have a whole family.. like this is great for your family and you don’t need to eat out all the time. How can anyone see any negative

People that constantly eat out, will never understand this. The amount of money you're saving astronomical 😳

It never seemed like to me. It seems like a busy mom with a large family who makes meals ahead to save time and meal prep. What’s wrong with that?

People forget that 6 people eat more then 2-4. Plus you are preparing for your surgery

A hoarder would just put the food in the freezer and leave it, you actually use your goods!

I will say that I've never even thought of you being a hoarder and you explain the difference really really well!

As far as hoarding, this is no different than if you went to Costco and filled your freezer with prepackaged meals 😂

This is how I was raised. when did it become normal to only have a couple days food in the house? not only is it cheaper, you never know what will happen that keeps you from getting to the store.

I strive to be half as prepared as you! Thanks for all that you share. And good luck to you on your upcoming procedure.

For real though… failure to prepare is preparation to fail. I also have 6 at home. We started farming 😂 I “hoard” animals and can my own food now.

I think people who don’t have to worry about food won’t understand this. They don’t see a need to have back up or extra because they don’t think they will ever neee it or be without it

I think 2020 caused trauma for a lot of people, especially if you lived in big cities and LITERALLY had nothing. I get it 😅

I struggled with being prepared vs food hoarding for a long time. I now am prepared for any situation because I struggled with food insecurity as a child.

I don’t can, but I do have food stocked in the freezer and cupboards. Last year my new meds gave me shingles in my eye. I was off work for 6 weeks. No income, it’s just me. I had everything I needed.

I have trauma and collect food. And I’ve lived through too many end of the world style events to give it up.

I never realized this wasn't done in every household growing up until social media. my family always stocked up on food & toiletries when on sale to get us through the next time they're on sale.
