For the kitchen and bathrooms I prefer the cold white. Everywhere else should be warm/soft white!

Depends on the part of the house! Utility rooms like garage, bathroom, kitchen, mudroom, laundry room, white light, living areas and bedrooms are warm light

I love having a mix of daylight and soft white. partly because the white light tricks my brain during gloomy days and help me feel like I have sun and keep me from feeling mopey and sleepy.

Go by the kelvin or lumens and not the color name! I’ve found bulbs labeled “Soft white” that are still basically fluorescent.

Also, a bulb with a high CRI (color rendering index) is a much more natural looking light. 90 CRI or above. A good bulb will have it listed on the package.

Also, if they have a vintage style warm white bulb with lower lumens, they look better than the full led warm white bulbs!

Unfortunately, all incandescent lights are illegal and even if you get the antique lightbulbs with the soft light still LED and messes with circadian rhythms even more. I wonder why they did that 🥴
