@gardeningwithrhys: Other reason I’m getting excited for the cool season gardening is because I’m having other attempts at grow garlic this season but it not real garlic as it’s elephant garlic which is more of a leek. I still can’t grow a garlic or a leek so it will be a challenge this season to see if I can grow garlic as normal my garlic just come up then do nothing for a couple of weeks then dies. But this season I’m trying elephant garlic for the first time and in a new location my plot in ground not a pot which could make all the difference but before I planted out the garlic i prepared the soil with lots of cow manure, fertiliser and pot soil and the soil in the bed then I planted them out 30cm apart in rows and 30cm between each plant and 5cm deep and I only did half of the bed with garlic as I wanted to see if I could grow it before planting a whole bed out. Now is the perfect time to get your garlic in the ground but you have until end of autumn to get it in the ground. Now my garlic is in the ground I will hopefully see garlic coming up in 5-14 days and then be able to harvest them in 270-320 days to harvest. Hoping to have success with garlic this year. #garlic #planting #gardening
