My doctor flew from Vancouver to Tokyo in the 70's. He said the smokers got nose bleeds during the very long flight.

I took a BA flight to London in the 90s that had a smoking section at the back. The thing about smokers is that they also tend to be drinkers. The back of the plane was like a fraternity party 😂

The ash trays are also because the aircraft was type certified when smoking was allowed. Remove the ash trays, re-cert the airplane

As a Flight Attendant, I worked smoking flights. What a mess! My hair reeked after. Even smoking coworkers supported the ban. Passengers too close to the smoking section complaining 😩

Honestly I don’t think I could be a FA if you could still smoke on board. I just wouldn’t want to be around it that much. It would be awful! I can’t stand smoking. Imagine smoking on a 16 hour flight! You’d open the door on arrival and get a huge puff of smoke let out of the cabin 😅 gross

I recall 1976 flying( age 18) and smoking. Before 1973 flying from Inuvik to Edmonton Just Paper ticket, no ID shown, saw hunters taken on sealed guns, No security check and visiting the cockpit.

I was born in 2006 and find it crazy that smoking indoors in restaurants and in trains was still allowed until 2010 where I live 😭

You should have seen the gunk stuck on the pressurizing valve. We had to clean it with either gasoline, paint thinner, kerosene, or even acetylene.
