Dogs can also get a fatal fungal infection from ingesting water from ponds, lakes etc. took my best friends pup at only 2 😭 so glad to hear Zeke pulled through ❤️

Not only this but algae bloom kills dogs that are in waters like this

Also, blue/green algae!!! we do not let our dogs swim in rivers/creeks/lakes in the warm months when this algae is active. It is very prominent is certain areas especially in the warmer months

I will tell you rn, as someone who has 3 dogs that LOVE the water, take your dogs to running water to swim/ play. Sitting water is full of bacteria, rivers is the best place for your babies!!!

Also, please make sure to be aware of your areas water quality!!! We have lost many dogs in my area due to an algae run off into our oceans as many pet parents were unaware!

Thabk you so much for sharing this. We dont live near any body of water but our dear Andy likes to chomp at the fire hydrants when they are on full blast. I've worried about similar issues according and stopped letting him
