Interesting fact: My husband’s ancestor Bob Olinger was unalived by Billy the Kid. My Great Uncle in Law has a HUGE family tree and traced it all the way back to Bob. It’s pretty cool!

People would kill for no reason and dime novels would idolize these outlaws, making the youth in the 1860-1890 want to turn into a gunslinger, bringing life expectancy down and murder rates up. The Wild West eventually died down in 1895-1899, but some major outlaws still roamed up to the 1900’s, and even the 1910’s.

He went to NM at the age of 3 and was fluent in Spanish spoke it as well as any Mexican. He had a Mexican wife and lived in Mexico for many years after his alleged demise by Garret
