I started having panic attacks my senior year (2013). My last semester, I had them once a day. The school nurse was a saint. She listened and helped me. She was the only one who seemed to care.

Yes! My husband is a school counselor. Even if the child is "faking it" to get out of class, that's still a social/emotional issue that counselors are trained to address and teachers are not. Teachers are amazing at many things, but they don't have master's degrees in educational psychology. Utilize the counselors! 🙌❤️

As a mental health nurse I LOVE to see this. Panic attacks are not being dramatic, children don’t have smaller issues just because they’re younger. Early intervention & support is SO important

lol once had a panic attack in class when i was supposed to be presenting. teacher sent me to the counselor and then showed up there 30 min later to berate me for missing the presentation!
