He really needs downstairs living now. He’s either incapable or terrified of moving. Emotions are one of the last things to go so he might not remember falling but he will remember being scared

Not refusing. He can’t anymore. My dad couldn’t walk anymore. That part of the brain just won’t allow it anymore. Then he couldn’t feed himself anymore. It just slowly shuts everything down. 😞

From a 58yo daughter - your family is doing so well. I have just put my dear Dad into nursing care as I reached the point of being unable to manage him physically any more. Just sending you very best wishes from a fellow carer, it’s extremely hard emotionally and physically for all of you.

It’s so hard the more dementia progresses, my dad’s mobility suddenly went he just couldn’t work out how to stand up any more let alone walk . I would just say that my dad would try and get out of bed and that’s when he stared to fall a lot . It must be so scary having dementia to not understand what people are saying to you . I think you’re doing a great job documenting your story people are unaware how hard it is .

Hello 👋🏼 former carer here who’s looked after dementia service users. I used to find holding both hands and showing them to step with you works
