I’ve been teaching for 16 yrs now. Most teens just want to be treated with respect, to be seen as a person. These generational issues are largely made up imo.

My sister passed this year, when I got back, I had a beautiful card, flowers, and a whole bunch of handwritten notes. These kids are amazing and the most empathetic students I’ve ever taught.

I have students who are known to act up in other classes but don’t for me. I take the time and effort to make sure every one feels welcomed and like they belong in my class and that I’m there for them
