My parents have already planed and paid for theirs. They even have a headstone…. It’s weird to me but they said “we don’t want to leave our kids with the burden of planing it”

The only problem I have was planning ahead is you don't really know where you're gonna die. What I mean is I can pay a funeral home ahead of time but I might die in a different state on vacation

It’s also important to remember that not all funeral homes charge the same amounts. It’s a tough time to do research during acute grief, so consider educating yourself now.

Honestly, I usually agree with 99% of what you say. But a funeral is $7k-$10k for a singular event. A car? I’ve had mine for 9 years and still going. And it didn’t cost me everything up front.

Just went to the wake of a close friend yesterday. 2-4 / 7-9 one day showing & cremation. $13,000. I know it’s more bc they laid him out for a day but still that’s a lot for what it is.

I am not from the United States, but what is the benefit of planning ahead? My grandparents planned ahead, and their funerals were a nightmare. Specifically dealing with the vault and headstone.
