@vividvisionsoptometry: POV: You’re getting a retinal detachment and don’t even realize it. Flashes of light. Sudden floaters. A shadow creeping in from the side of your vision. No pain—but your retina could be tearing right now. Don’t wait. A retinal detachment is an emergency. If you notice any of these signs, get checked immediately. www.vividvisionsoptometry.com/appointments #retinaldetachment #eyemergency #flashesandfloaters #visionloss #eyehealth #optometry #valenciacalifornia #vividvisionsoptometry #retinaawareness #eyeexam #behavioraloptometry #onthisday
alot of floaters cam also be a sign of PVD of the eye. not always retinal detachment.

I never saw flashes but the floaters were matrix level. The full detachment was like a curtain coming up from the bottom. 0/10 do not recommend. Also do not recommend being awake for repair surgery:

if it comes and goes is it retinal detachment/ tear? derealization and dissociation does this and I did have my eyes checked with mri and a CT scan and the pictures of the nerves etc of the back of the eye by a opthomologist

Um so how long can you experience these symptoms before everything goes black? I’ve had these symptoms, sometimes only 1, other days- all. Off and on for months

Remember folks; if you have shadows in the vision, or what is called “Veiling”, or you feel like you’re looking through a curtain, that is a EMERGENCY. Hospital visit is a must at that point!!!!

mine looked nothing like that. I did have the lightening flashes though, they happened once and i could almost 'feel' it sort of crunch.😬 I went to the opticians, they said my eye was fine. 2 days later a solid black half moon suddenly appeared right at the bottom of my eye, I woke up with it. which over 24 hours grew to cover almost half my sight. if i moved my head back my vision disappeared. it took my surgeon 4.5 hours to repair it under general anaestheic. Gave me a cataract a few years later too. 😫

My husband has had two retinal detachments and he confirms that this is all accurate. For him the most intense was the flashes of light. He said it was like being in a personal lighting storm.

None of this happened with mine. One day my computer screen seemed dark I couldn’t get it light enough and then by 5pm I couldn’t see out of one eye. No flashes or floaties leading up to it
