@ishikawa.craft: What is “Watetsu” — Traditional Japanese Iron? Watetsu is a traditional Japanese iron made using a centuries-old method called tatara smelting. Unlike Western iron, which is made from iron ore, Watetsu is produced using iron sand and charcoal. This iron is known for its flexibility and toughness — it doesn’t easily crack even after repeated forging.
