My sister recently got diagnosed with psychosis, anxiety, and insomnia. She just got out of the mental hospital (where she got diagnosed) and today she left her first therapy class early due to her psychotic episode. We're new to this, we don't know what to do. She's only calm when she has her meds but is that really the only way? No methods at all? Is she really going to be stuck with meds for the rest of her life like is that the only way I have my sister back? I need advice.

Completely draining. And the worst part is there’s nothing I can do. I tried being supportive, I tried to make my mom stop enabling her, I tried to get her help but she just kept putting me in danger, emotionally abusing me and now she has a child. It’s always in the back of my mind I feel like I can’t live my life fully knowing that she’s still destroying herself and our family because she refuses to get help

It's honestly horrific and so so sad. Even when they recover, you're anticipating the next episode. I'm so thankful we are there to love them however as they are so very vulnerable. Strength to you 🥰

this is so real. people think psychosis is a “simple” thing when it’s not. living it is exhausting especially when you’re struggling yourself and your mom has psychosis, and your dad also has mental illness. instead of being supported you become the one supporting. no one really understands, because you don’t show how heavy it is.

Wow the comments make me sad and unease err I was the one with psychosis it was hard for me but I can't imagine having my dad or mother with psychosis I would be so confused and worried
