@ehu2222: He’s such a tragic character bc like imagine you’re a teen and it’s all so boring. Like think Light Yagami where you’re just highkey above everybody else and there’s no spark in your life. Either that or he was in a bad situation (no family or money or something) and Charles Choi took him in. Either way, he finds a man, perhaps even a father figure, that raises him to be who he is. He follows this man’s orders, bleeds for him, just for him to be called “just a dog that I’m raising” like. BRO. And he’s given one last order: to kll Gapryong Kim. Maybe he’s told this would be the last one. No more nutilating kings. He would be free after this. Or maybe he knew all along it was a trap and Charles was going to use it as blackmail but he did it because what other choice did he have? And with gapryong Kim he all ends James Lee and emerges as DG. Maybe leaving it all behind was really easy because he didn’t have much to leave behind. And then years later he wants to break free. Yes he’s biting the hand that fed him but also yes that’s the hand that’s held his leash this whole time. And Charles takes the satisfaction of ending him from James. The first time we see James with an uncontrolled expression in the whole series perhaps, and it’s when Charles dies. This isn’t the way he wanted it to end. And then he says himself that Charles Choi isn’t dead. Maybe because Charles Choi lives on in James. Second body theory or not, James is becoming the man he despises. Perhaps James admires Charles’ methods, since he mirrors them now, but resented being the one under those methods’ control. He wants to create a society in which evil doesn’t exist. But the time old cliche, even if he does that, there would still be himself left.
