100% agree! I paid for my bridesmaids’ dresses, hair, makeup, personalised pjs/slippers/clutch, earrings and only asked them to wear their own shoes. Wouldn’t dream of asking them to pay for anything

Nope , they would be buying a dress anyway and they have a choice if they want to be involved or not , plus if anyone is spending that much money on one dress for someone’s else’s wedding they are mad

I agree.. when i got married... I paid for the dress , shoes, accessories. everything.. its my wedding.people would get offended if they said no... they would deny it.but they would be upset.....

Scottish bride here! Bought the dresses for the bridesmaid and flower girls, paid the rental for the kilts for the groomsmen. Also paid for hair and make up etc. If it’s your wedding, you pay!

Yes! 'But it's a lovely dress, you can wear it again!'. Nope. Nope I won't. It doesn't matter how much I love the dress, it will always be a bridesmaids dress so I will never wear it again. 🤷🏻♀️

How do you feel about groomsmen? I feel they can wear it again so most people tell them they need to pay. Also suits are more expensive, thoughts? It’s abit of a double standard but understandable?

I disagree, it's your day you do what you need for you. It's an honor to be asked to be a apart of a wedding, and either way most people buy a dress/suit for a wedding anyway. Mine are paying for theirs but they can spend as little or as much as they like 😊

I didn't realise people didn't buy the dress for the bridesmaids or pay for the suit hire for the groomsmen. you ask people to be involved you cover all expenses

I completely disagree. If you have a big family you want all 7 sisters but can’t afford it. It’s acceptable to say ‘I’d love all of you but can’t afford it’ they have a choice then

Yes, I agree and re suits for groomsmen, we bought ones for our dads, asked all had a grey suit except one. He wouldn’t need a suit normally but he was same size as my husband and borrowed one of his

I gave my bridesmaids the option, if they wanted to a pick a dress of their choice that they could wear again in the future then they pay but if they don’t want to, I’ll pay! 🥰

I've paid for dresses, asked them when asking if they will pay for shoes, hair, make up & they were all okay with this, we've also bought groomsmen suits and asked them to sort white shirts & black shoes we've done ties

Agreed, I bought all my bridesmaids dresses, paid for hair and make up and jewellery, all they had to do was buy shoes because some had ones they wanted to wear already
