No more struggling with your colour grading 👇🏾 IMPORTANT: Make sure you expose your footage correctly IN camera first, this makes life A LOT easier when grading. 1. Keep it simple. We are creating content, not a feature film, so don't overcomplicate the process, especially if you are NEW to grading. We only need 6 nodes to get the look I'm going for. 2. CST IN/OUT - It always starts with a conversion from Log back to rec709. Sometimes I use a conversion LUT, but... we need to use color space transform for this one. 3. PRIMARIES - Color correction, exposure and giving our frame a boost in saturation. It's already looking pretty good here. 4. KODAK LUT - We need to change the output gamma on our CST OUT to Cineon Film Log before we chuck on our Kodak LUT. If you don't make that change, it's gona look all kinds of crazy lmao. At this point, it's good enough to leave as it is, butttttt I wana add some subtle finishes! 5. MASKING + HALATION + GLOW - All in very small doses. This shouldn't be extreme, but it should be enough to notice a difference. You could chuck on some grain here, too. That's it, honestly took me less than 10 minutes and then I just copied the look across to my other clips.
