ok so i need to talk about this because nobody told me literally ANY of this before i had my baby and i genuinely think it would have changed so much for me 😭 like i knew postpartum was "a thing" but i thought it meant maybe feeling a little sad for a week or two and then being fine?? nobody told me it was going to feel like the loneliest experience of my entire life i remember being like 5 days postpartum and my husband had gone back to work and my mom went home and it was just me and this tiny baby and i sat in the rocking chair at 2am and just cried because i felt SO alone and also SO guilty for feeling alone because i had a healthy baby and i "should" be happy and that made it worse honestly the thing that actually helped me and i dont say this lightly was finding out other moms were awake at the exact same time feeling the exact same things. theres this free app called Beacon and it literally shows you other moms who are up at 3am going through it. and the first time i opened it and saw that i wasnt the only one sitting in the dark questioning everything i genuinely started crying but in a different way. like RELIEF crying. because i had been so convinced i was the only one failing at this but also beyond the app, i just wish someone had sat me down and said hey. taking care of yourself is not selfish. asking for help is not dramatic. crying every day doesnt mean you're broken. your body just did something incredible and your whole entire life just changed and your hormones are doing THINGS and you are allowed to not be okay for a while if you are in the early days right now or even months in and still struggling, pls know you are not alone and what you're feeling is so normal even when it doesnt feel normal. save this if you need it 🤍 #mom #MomsofTikTok #momlife #momtok #baby
