@thekimkelley: How I healed my grade 3 sprained ankle: 1) rest + elevate it above the heart 2) nutrition + hydration + quality sleep POV: if you’re not doing those three things, don’t even look for pills and other solutions. Start there. 3) flushing / lymphatic drainage massage (light strokes towards the heart) 4) strengthening the soft tissue Low impact, weight bearing exercises after @ 6 weeks of resting it I’ve had zero pain in it for months now and only feel a slight strain when I do a high intensity jump or sprint. I’m letting it fully heal before I push it to that limit, but I have a feeling I’ll be sprinting very soon 🤗 I hope this helps and gives hope to anyone who is healing a sprained ankle or foot. It takes patients believe me. You definitely want this to heal correctly though! #An#AnkleSprainp#SprainedAnklep#SprainedFootp#spraine#healingispossible

Out of curiosity did you have a lot of pain as you recovered? I’m 5 weeks in and am shocked I still struggle to walk without horrible pain the next day. But unlike you - I’ve been told weight baring as I can since week 2. Similar to what you’re saying about over rest. On the circulation piece- I just read about this today- even how blood doesn’t get to tissues well which can delay healing. Just now starting to focus on anti inflammatory approaches. Really want to do anything I can. Would love more tips on those inner workings to strengthen!

I sprained my ankle a couple weeks ago. Most of the swelling has gone down, but certain movements and no movement definitely are still super uncomfortable when I do put pressure on it 😣 however, once I do start walking it doesn’t really bug me unless there’s a random dip/angle. This was so helpful!

Mine isn't swollen or bruised. It's more on the top area of door and deep inside. But it hurts so bad to put pressure on it. Even with a boot and crutches. I been icing too. Any suggestions

I’m 8 weeks in and have been walking. I notice some swelling. Did you happen to have the same experience?

I love this!! 6 weeks ago i sprained my ankle and fractured my metatarsal, so forsure ive been putting off any movement for 6 weeks. Not sure how bad my sprain was because i didn’t get an mri but the swelling has gone down drastically, i can almost see my bone, its just painful. Forsure im gonna follow this advice! Scared but im hopeful!

hi! i think i might have a possibly level 3 sprain as well with ligament tear but not confirmed yet bc i need an mri (my foot was too swollen) so they said to wait to do mri. some people are saying to start bearing weight as soon as possible but i’m so scared. how long did you wait? my foot is bruised everywhere and still swells when i put it down. i been wiggling my toes and icing + high protein + fluids.
