@freespiritequestrian: Replying to @We’re all just human he was gelded when I bought him but I was told he never was around mares or did anything breeding related. He also was locked in a stall for months at a time, and was not consistently handled most of his life. I have late cut geldings who have been fine so it’s his unique situation and upbringing that created issues for him. I’m just happy he is getting what he needs and is loved ❤️.
the fact is you would never have bought a horse that acts like a stallion if you’d known because you have a WHOLE herd to keep safe and happy

The audacity of the person selling him without disclosing that stuff… that is straight up DANGEROUS. Like

none of this is your fault OR his. you're already doing right by him by furthering his exposure and training. there is no doubt in the end you will make the best decision for everyone. and IF you sell

IMO, the folks giving you a hard time are the same people who have never been around a horse. They aren’t dogs or cats. Doing best by the horse sometimes means finding them a different home 🖤

If Lumi doesn’t fit in with your program (not saying lesson horse, just herd and atmosphere) then he will feel that difference and it won’t end well. You’re doing the right thing for everyone Shea ♥️

People act too delusional when it comes to horses. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out. Either if it’s the boarding, behavior, or financial reasons. It’s more responsible to rehome a horse to a better-

Such a shame, I remember when you first purchased him! This is one of the reasons if I buy for myself it’ll always be young unhandled horses or breed my own, too many liars out there!

If people aren’t involved with horses much they’re the ones saying “omg you can’t sell them you can’t this you can’t that” they do not understand.. you do what is best & safest for you & the horse too

I hope stories like these help normalize these scenarios. Not all sellers are honest and the buyer and horse collectively shouldn’t suffer for that. In the end, you’ll help him get a far better home.

I think its very respectable doing something thats best for the horses best interest (including the herds), even if its hard. Sure he might be your dream horse, but you’re always putting his needs (1

It’s unfortunate that we can’t hold these sellers accountable when things happen because they withheld truthful information just so they can pass the issue along to the next person. Do what YOU know will be best for him, you and your other horses.

Golly, can’t Shae get a break? I have faith in her decisions about her horses, her pets, her boutique, her students, etc. She’s addressing Belle’s needs, Dodger’s treatable health issues!

I’m in the same position with my dream mare. I’m having to sell her now, and it’s heartbreaking. Why they lied I’ll never understand, I could have fixed it if I had known😕

The position you were put in is not the fault of you. He was not as described and if the best thing for him is to go to a home where he has one rider for consistency then that’s what you will do.

I grew up around horses but never owned one myself. Even i know its dangerous when certain information isn't disclosed. my grandma got hurt from a drugged horse she thought was different.
