@lyssaslizards: The three types of lighting you need to know about in reptile keeping (and my brand recommendations!!!) 🐍💡🦎 Link in bio for @TheBioDude products and lighting! 🔥 Halogen heat bulbs - Nearly all reptiles will need some source of external heat in order to properly digest and take in all the nutrients and vitamins they need! Halogen heat provides deeper heat penetration to their muscles. They also provide several different types of light spectrums that reptiles need and would get from the sun. Deep heat projectors are your next best option! But they do not provide all the needed light spectrums. Please also always use a dimming thermostat and ensure you’re checking your temps for safety. @Arcadia Reptile has some amazing halogen products! 🌞 UVB lighting - Most living beings, including humans, need UVB rays from sunlight for many different reasons and at varying levels of output! UVB helps many pet reptile species synthesize Vitamin D3, which is essential for them to absorb calcium and have strong bone health. MOST reptiles need linear UVB for proper output (NOT the spiral compact bulbs). UVB and halogen lighting works together to mimic all the sun’s light spectrums. Each species requires different amounts of UVB output so please do your research and ensure you’re providing the right amount. Arcadia and Reptisun UVB lighting are my favorites! 🌱 Plant LED lighting - If you’re keeping your reptiles in bioactive or naturalistic setups with live plants, this is a MUST! Plants indoors (and in enclosures) need some extra help in order to grow and thrive. When our plants are thriving and growing, they’re giving our reptiles new coverage or hiding spots and new things to explore! The Bio Dude’s Glow & Grow has been amazing, I’m using these in my next three enclosure builds. #reptilelighting #halogenlights #halogenbulbs #uvblighting #uvbforreptiles #reptilecare #plantgrowlights #bioactiveenclosure #bioactivereptile #reptilekeeperlife #reptilekeepers

For those asking if the lumenize is worth it, I’ve had mine since November last year. I would absolutely say they are worth the price! You’re able to set light percentage through the day to mimic sunlight cycles and it saves the hassle of buying timers or turning the lights off, I’ve also noticed my leopard geckos seem to be much more active! 💖
