But Burmese Curly textures are chemically processed to create that deep, exotic curl pattern that people love. Factories often use steam processing, mild acid baths, and other chemical treatments to soften, set, and lock in the curls. Most Burmese people don’t naturally have tightly coily or curly textures! Many suppliers, especially in Vietnam, and China, are manufacturing these textures because they’re popular and sound exotic — “Burmese Curly” just sounds luxurious, even though it’s often factory-processed hair. Also — you know when you see bundles lined up perfectly with zip ties? That’s another marketing trick. Vendors know customers associate that clean “factory look” with “raw hair” — but real raw hair straight from donors usually doesn’t look like that polished or uniform. If you’re truly looking for natural coily or curly raw hair, it’s extremely rare — you would need to source from a reputable hair collector, NOT a factory. Collectors deal with actual donors and real, untouched textures — not manufactured patterns. If the hair has been chemically manipulated — even lightly — it’s NOT raw, it’s processed (usually classified as Virgin Hair).
