@thantzinspain: Shwemokhtaw Pagoda ရွှေမုဋ္ဌောစေတီ, ပုသိမ် Shwemokhtaw Pagoda 🛕✨, located in Pathein, Myanmar 🇲🇲, is a historically significant Buddhist pagoda with origins tracing back to ancient times. According to tradition, it was originally founded by King Asoka 👑 of India around 305 BC as a small stupa. The pagoda underwent significant enhancements over the centuries: King Alaungsithu of Bagan raised its height to 11 meters in 1115 AD 📏, and later, the Mon King Samodogossa elevated it further to 131 feet (40 meters) in 1263 AD 🏯. Today, the pagoda stands approximately 153 feet (47 meters) tall 🏔️, adorned with a top tier made of solid gold 🥇, a middle tier of pure silver 🥈, and a bronze bottom tier 🥉, encrusted with numerous precious stones 💎 including diamonds and rubies ❤️. \It is one of the most revered religious sites 🙏 in southern Myanmar and hosts an annual festival 🎉 during the full moon 🌕 of Kason (April/May), marking the Visakha celebration 🌸.
