Russia lost 19 million civilians and 8,7 million soldiers in ww2 against Germany. Ukraine fought with Germany and held biggest SS group during ww2.

1. Many Ukrainians fought in the Red Army. The battle of Berlin for example had no Russian units involved. Two Belorusian brigades and two Polish peoples army and a 1st Ukrainian front.

sure some Ukrainians supported Germany but so did many Brits including members of the Royal family however they were a minority. Hundreds of thousands died fighting Germans
