I cheered for a year after having my surgery & it was extremely difficult & painful. I wouldn’t recommend getting any surgery until you’re ready to not cheer. 6 years post-op & already having issues

I had a spondylosis in L5 and did steroid injections to manage my pain my senior season, I will eventually need surgery for it (likely after having kids) because L4 is sliding over L5 gradually

I didn’t even have a brace before I got the surgery but I’m telling you once you recover you can go back to cheer I hope it all goes well!!

Personally I know it’s hard to let go of cheer but your back is with you FOREVER cheer is not!! Do what’s SAFE that’s what’s important!!

I think you should definitely think about what you want. I don’t request getting the minor surgery and later having another surgery because it’s more risky. It’s up to u can’t wait to see what u do❤️

My surgeon said to me. You can get the surgery at 16 or at 30, if you can still live a normal life & there’s things you want to do before that do it. I was booked in at 16 to get it done, then decided I wanted to continue my gymnastics career. I am now 22 & I am so glad I held off.

Scottish rite is so great. I had back surgery there 3 weeks ago and they are amazing! Just pray about it and the Lord will show you when the time is right. They will take great care of you!❤️

Take the time u need! If u have even a slither of doubt hold off do another season and reassess. I feel like you should talk to Peyton Mabry as she had a similar procedure done years ago.

needed back surgery years ago, didn’t get it, continued cheering, 8 years later ended up in the worst pain of my life, got the surgery and regret not doing it sooner

Any doctor that’s telling you one surgery will be your last is incredibly misleading. Just don’t make your decision based on that fact, because she can’t promise you that- nobody can.
