At 18, it took me an entire year to make $50k in Australia. At 27, I can make that in around 2 months. Here are 4 things that changed 👇 1. I stopped only trading my time for money. When your income is tied directly to your hours, there’s eventually a ceiling. Building a business, creating content and finding ways to generate income that weren’t purely based on hours worked changed the equation for me. 2. I focused on skills people actually pay for. Sales. Marketing. Content creation. Negotiation. Building an audience. You don’t need to master everything. Getting really good at solving a valuable problem can completely change what your time is worth. 3. I started building systems instead of doing everything myself. I used to think making more meant working more. Now I focus on leverage — systems, technology, processes and people that allow me to accomplish more without personally doing every task. 4. I realised the “safe” path isn't the only path. I used to think the formula was simple: Study → get a good job → work your way up → make more money. But once I looked outside the traditional career path, I realised there were other opportunities: business, freelancing, content, personal branding and developing valuable skills. I also became much more intentional with money. Because making money and keeping money are two different skills. Earning more doesn't mean much if your lifestyle expenses grow just as quickly. The biggest shift? I stopped asking “how can I work more?” and started asking “how can I create more value?” What’s one money or career lesson you wish you knew at 18? 👇 #sydney #australia #australian #aussie
