How to cook soft layered chapati. Ingredients. *All purpose flour. *Warm water. *Cooking oil. *1 & 1/2 tbsp salt. *3 Tbsp sugar *Knead the dough with warm water until it's soft and not sticky. Don't add too much flour when kneading. You want a soft dough. *Rest the dough well for at least 45 minutes. The longer it rests the better. *Roll out the chapati on all sides while turning to get a round chapati. *Cook the chapati on a hot pan without oil for about two minutes. *Add oil when it has some spots. Add oil on top. Press down to get brown spots then flip it. *Put the chapati in a hot pot lined with a clean kitchen towel or wrap with foil to keep them soft.
