@move4physio: “MRI isn’t always the magic answer.” In this clip from her recent workshop at Tristan Stowe Coaching, our physio Leisha Mulvey breaks down why scans like MRIs don’t always give you the full picture. Pain doesn’t always mean damage, and many scan findings—like disc bulges or joint changes—are common in people with no symptoms at all. That’s why clinical assessment, movement analysis and individual context matter more when it comes to recovery. Curious about what’s really causing your pain? Let’s talk. #Physiotherapy #NorthamptonPhysio #MRI #SportsInjury #RehabEducation #PainScience #StrengthAndRehab #MoveBetter #InjuryPrevention #Move4Physio #TristanStoweCoaching
I don't really like this new narrative. additional information via imaging can be a really useful piece of the puzzle, we just need to keep the high quality education and treatment.

Agree but also disagree. Advanced techniques including NerveView differentiate between pain provoking pathology vs incidental degenerative spine or asymptomatic disc. The key is enhancement of spinal nerves and corresponding granulation tissue around the disc. Multifidus assessment is also possible including muscle quality and size. Pain in general should warrent imaging to avoid further injury, and effective treatment planning. Addressing pain early is important to prevent transition to a chronic pain, which increases innervation and pain sensitisation. Btw.. MRI and physio are friends. 🤍
