For my family, I would probably use that container for my rice. We don’t have pets, but we do buy big bags of rice and this container would be perfect for it.

Leave the food in the original bag and place in the container. The oils from the food can seep I to the porous plastic and cause the food to go rancid especially if the container is not washed before refilling. Pets can get very sick, so always leave in the original bag as they are designed to keep food from going rancid, ensuring freshness and safety for your pets. :)
