I used them the water temp was 34 degrees and it was 50 when I was there didn’t feel like dying from hypothermia on a 8+ mile hike

Have literally hiked this 10 times and taken groups. Done it with and without water boots/sticks. I recommend the boots and sticks every time. Let’s not gatekeep people.

Walk through the narrows? I just wait until they close it down to hikers for high flows and pack raft it top down. You get it all to yourself 🫡

I hiked this a couple years ago wearing my chacos and a cotton shirt and some pants. Was I freezing? Yes. Did I eventually go numb and forgot I was cold? Also yes.

Yeah I did this hike in July so the water was warmer and dry season but I didn’t use any thing besides a water proof bag and my good hiking boots. But whatever you comfort level is do you.

I did the stick. It was like just above waist high when I went. I don’t think I could’ve done it without it. A lot of people without them fell a lot lol

Used waiters very unnecessary. I will say having a walking stick was very helpful but no need to purchase one just pick up one of the sticks people leave at the start
