@heavenzlove.ranch: Replying to @HeavenzLove Ranch Sometimes it is super challenging to tell the difference between an Ameraucana, Easter Egger, and Olive Egger. Even people at Tractor Supply and other feed stores can get the breeds completely mixed up. This happened recently when I was in the TS store and was asking about their “Ameraucana” bin that didn’t look like Ameraucana. I was surprised at the response, but I shouldn’t be. . Some ways we can tell include: 1. Leg color 2. Cheeks/Muffs/Beard 3. Leg feathering 4. Comb . Ameraucana have grey/slate colored legs. They have cheeks/muffs and sometimes beards. They have clean legs and feet. They have a pea comb. . If you notice anything different on your “Ameraucana”, especially if it was from a local feed store, it is VERY possible that you do not have a pure Ameraucana, which is actually not as easy to get as an Easter Egger and, depending on the color and SOP breeding, is often more pricey than an Easter Egger. .
