I never liked the idea of orcs being totally inhuman because it’s very obvious in the books that they are sentient and intelligent (if very savage) people.

I think about this a lot and wonder about the origin of their fëar. Since they reproduce like the Children of Ilúvatar, then they must be sent by Eru. This would imply he essentially assists in (1)

obviously it was PJ version but in the movie saruman was digging the orcs out of the ground. gives more credibility to the theory that they were corrupted/dead elves
