It wasn’t simply “white” folk against “black” folks when it comes to demonizing indigenous spirituality. It was Catholicism against anything that wasn’t Catholicism, and eventually that morphed into multiple denominations of Christianity that ultimately adopted the demonization of anything that wasn’t “Christian”. I have grieved over the loss of true spiritual connection of my European ancestors (Celtic & Norse) as well, I’m putting the pieces back together of what we were before our spirituality was demonized and my ancestors were burned alive as “witches”.
