Skirt hikes. Go to the leather crafter at your local Ren faire. Two rings and a loop to put on a belt. They work perfectly. But the swords work too.

Victorian skirts had underskirts with drawstrings so you could gather the dress where your swords do! It’s fairly simple just sew 3 lines, with the middle line starting an inch from the top, and lace ribbon up one side+ down the other. Pull and tie :)
