I think this is half true. I have the same roosting bars, but I also give them 3" tree branches and ropes in their run, and I find they develop strength in their feet if they have it available. I think we've just all been told 2x4s, and therefore they've lost conditioning. But it doesn't really matter in the end if that's what they get their whole life, they will be fine, I'm more just making an observation

Ok question. I’m using 2x4s but I need to know how low or high to place it? I’ve read some birds can’t get high and some prefer higher roosts. I planned on placing one at 30” because my nesting box tops are 24”. Is this ok? Too short? Too high?
