Today I showed Eden one of my current favourite YouTubers. She is an overachiever-type; she models for big brands, travels a lot, eats well, exercises and creates content - oh and she’s still in high school (not homeschooled). I laughed and said to Eden “she only ever hangs out with her mum.” Eden said “that’s what it takes to get ahead” - sacrificing parts of your life to have other parts be better. Being the “boring” friend… Or simply not having any friends at all might be the reason this girl is so successful at such a young age. In this life, you cannot have it all. (Well at least not all at once). If you want to grow a business, you have to say goodbye to partying, seeing your friends often, eating out or playing video games everyday. If you want to have a ripped body, you can’t eat doughnuts everyday. If you want to be fluent in Korean, you have to switch out your morning scroll for morning Duolingo. Life is all about switching things out for better things. Its about removing things to make room for the things that actually matter to you. Its about sacrifices. You simply can’t do everything, everywhere, all at once. We are just one people 🥹 Saying “I don’t have time for something” purely means you are not prioritising it. At the end of the day, what you prioritise, defines you. Prioritise the things that you enjoy and that make you better. Prioritise the things that will make you the person you want to be; financially literate, a black belt in karate, a good friend. Or maybe a successful business owner with a ripped body that’s fluent in Korean for example 😏 (my current goals). What are your goals? What do you need to prioritise daily to get there? P.s These pieces are never meant to make you feel bad for not prioritising your goals or hobbies. It’s just a gentle reminder to you (and to myself) that what you put the time and the effort into will eventually fruit but it does always come with sacrifices. Find what is important to you in this life and put it at the forefront of your days. xo P + E
