So people don't get it. Correcting people when they are wrong is good. But over-correcting someone everyday, especially on every little thing is bad.

It’s real, my father used to correct me over the smallest things all the time (and still does), and I literally got sick of it, I have very poor self esteem, I have very little boundaries and I’m just a very unhappy and miserable adult now

Interesting. This really differentiates western & Asian cultures. Perhaps this explains why individual innovation & creativity thrive better in the west, but suffer a social eco- system with distinctly more disrespect, self centeredness, chaos, social dysfunctionality & crime. In the east, social cohesion, mutual respect & social responsibility take top priority but this in turn often suppresses individual potential be it in innovation, thought leadership & more. No system is perfect. It just goes to remind us how far humanity has yet to go!

What happens when someone doesn’t have the ability or doesn’t want to self correct. He is constantly a disaster waiting to happen, unless someone guides him differently. Then he argues. So we let him do what he wants and of course it’s a disaster.
