My boy has ivdd and vets told me to put him down and it’s been 4 months now and he is walking on his own. I just let him crate rest and carried him and done some leg exercises

Don’t let him drag his legs. Crate him. Go to emergency vet or vet asap and get anti inflammatory and pain meds. Crate rest. You can do surgery, but I would try crate rest for 6-8 weeks first.

Get him crated right away! Very little movement for 6-8 weeks if you’re going to try the conservative route. Only out to potty on a leash with a harness.

My dog has IVDD and he’s being diagnosed since he was 5-6 years old. He’s turning 12 this year and it’s been in control so far with just three flare ups. He’ll be ok I know it’s hard at first.

This is why when I was breeding I DNA tested my dogs before they had a litter. My first dog had MD it broke my heart. I never wanted another family to go through this. So I tested through UC Davis Labs for every thing I could before breeding.
