My daughter brought her brand new significant other to my daddy's memorial. We had told her before that we didn't want that. Keep in mind, my daddy was retired Law Enforcement. We were doing a full LEO service with honor guard & Officers. Her "friend' showed up in pajama pants, oversized hoodie, house slippers. This along with the fact that her hair literally looked like she had just rolled out of bed. She and my daughter could not have been more disrespectful. sorry, this is very recent so I'm still grieving and raw.

I was a bridesmaid... Her uncle showed up in ripped jeans and a flannel shirt with dirty work boots.... He was in photos.

We didn't have a "dress code" but the only person allowed to wear jeans was my uncle as that would be the only way he would come but he did wear a button up shirt & he only stayed for the ceremony!

Do you think it’s reasonable to ask people to stick to certain colours? I want sort of dark autumn tones like dark reds, burgundy, dark blues. Ideally not black but if they have absolutely nothing else it won’t stand out in photos.

Went to a friends wedding in Minnesota years ago. Me and mate from Scotland were 2 of about 5 other guests, in a wedding of around 70-80 people, that weren’t in jeans and were in suits.
