@gizzyvural: Just a reminder to deep clean your wooden cutting boards before bacteria make you regret it 🦠😷 Here are the steps I usually do it: 1.wet your board 2.sprinkle baking soda & squeeze half of a lemon 3. Scrub it with the rest of the lemon 4. Rinse & dry 5. Rub with coconut oil lightly It’s very simple yet so effective #CleanTok #cleaningmotivation #deepclean #fyp #creatorsearchinsights #homeorganization #cuttingboard #nontoxicliving #nontoxiccleaning #viralvideo
Why do people think lemons and baking soda magically disinfect everything

I use a Norwex cutting board and it's the best thing ever! Doesn't leave marks or anything either! Its made from rice husks.

Hey girl! If you’re really into using coconut oil I would opt for fractionated coconut oil. Otherwise use food safe mineral oil or beeswax! But regular coconut oil like this will go rancid :(

The acidity of the lemon and the neutrality of baking soda cancel each other out it’s the same as cleaning w water, you’d be better off with just one or the other

If it's wood, it's antibacterial. But yes, you should still clean it to keep it in good shape. You don't need to worry about using a disinfectant though. 😊

Tbh you shouldn’t use them at all. You’re just deep cleaning the surface of it, but bacteria can still seep into the small cracks within wood that you can’t see

Wood does absorb some bacteria but it dies within the wood cells once it dries out. You can look up the science behind it online. It’s safe for meat just wash with soap and water and you’ll be fine. I did a deep dive on it a while back.
