@quietgirlloudthoughts: Sometimes I wonder if people think I’m over her passing just because I get out of bed in the morning. Living with cancer for over a year, I came to terms with the way my life with my mom was going to be. But that doesn’t mean the sadness doesn’t rest heavy in my chest every single day. I dislike when people say “it gets better” because honestly I don’t know if it ever does. I think it gets less heavy. I think someday the good memories will be at the forefront and not the bad ones. I don’t want these experiences to be the last vision anyone has in their head of her, but instead, I want them to show how strong she fought and how hard it was to lose her. I want them to exist so more people can understand. Death isn’t always beautiful. A light isn’t beaming in through the window and a rose isn’t gently placed between their hands as they go off. It’s scary. It’s life altering. Cancer takes everything from you. Most mornings I wake up and wonder how I’m supposed to go on without her. Realizing I will spend more time missing her than being with her. But if this experience has taught me anything, it’s to bank on the sentiment “be kind to everyone you meet, you have no idea what they’re going through.” The words on the front cover have stuck with me for days. I wonder if I’m grieving right or if I should be feeling a different way. But loss doesn’t have one look. Grief doesn’t have one look. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day, and all I want is to hold her close ❤️🩹 #fypシ #fyp #motherloss #imissmymommy #mothersday
